Critical Acclaim for The Chicago Bar Project:
"Love your site bud. Get to Chicago from Detroit (Summertime only) often, and this guide provides me ALL the entertainment I need. I have a lot of work to do to get through this list, but I think I am man enough..." S.M.
"I just wanted to comment on what an incredible site you have here, easy to navigate through yet very comprehensive." – M.V.
"As a long time beer-drinker and soon-to-be Chicago resident, I have to say: awesome work! I'm actually going to be on Belden, around the corner from Halligan and Barleycorn's, and looking forward to checking them out in person." C.T.
"My husband is the owner of Andy's Jazz Club. I just so happened upon your review on the internet. The website is very impressive and the pictures of our club are awesome. I want to thank you for the very positive review. There are days we still can't believe our club can be found on the internet." D.C.
"In my pursuit of doing some research before my trip to Chicago with four old college buddies next weekend, I wanted to thank you for the most comprehensive coverage on bars and pubs in Chicago. Yeah, I went to metromix and citysearch, but neither had the insight or passion for their city as you do." S.N.
"Been checking on your site over the last two years or so - was home sick for Chicago and it fits the bill perfectly." D.R.
"Your site is freaking amazing. I reference it all the time." V.M.
"It's a great website! I was happy to find one of our favorites on there -- the Duke of Perth -- as well as a new one we'd like to try -- the Irish Oak." S.H.
"I REALLY love your entries on the late lamented German 'stubes' and
restaurants."
– L.K.D.
"[I] enjoyed your article on
Schulien's... I never got to visit the tavern and yet my maiden name was
Schulien... so I was glad to copy what you had kept! thank you..."
– S.M.
"I just came across your site. Love what you're doing! Great work and a
great contribution to the city!"
– W.R.
"Great work on the Wrigley
Field Review! I visited Chicago for the first time last summer, and had
the good fortune to make it to two Cubs games (and a third on a later
visit). I loved the city so much I'm actually moving there this May. My
first game at Wrigley I sat in the left field bleachers, fell in with a pack
of Bleacher Bums, joined a "Right field sucks!!" chant, and met Ronnie
Woo-Woo. Priceless."
– D.H.
"I loved the info on that bar with the turtle races on Friday nights!"
– M.R. (ref. Big Joe's)
"I spent almost 9 years in Chicago but now live in Boston. I just spent
the better part of an hour going through many of the bars I used to drink
in. Needless to say, your site is now a 'favorites' and here's hoping you
keep the site up and active. Thanks for the memories..." –
D.O.
"I just wanted to take a minute to write and let you know that I think the
chicagobarproject.com is a wonderful and informative site. I couldn't agree
more with all of your bar reviews and assessments. Some of my friends hold a
yearly pub crawl in which the itinerary are bars that you most likely would
never step foot in otherwise." –
B.S.
"In my search for a few new bikinis for work I came across your website.
I've been bartending at Crabbby Kim's on and off for the last five years and
I just wanted to thank you for your kind and thorough review of our bar." –
P.C.
"I have never seen anything more pitiful in my life. Judging by the number
of bars profiled on this site, it is sad to see someone rationalize their
own alcoholism to this extent." S.P.
