| Glazed Expressions | 3339 N. Lincoln | Ah, the serenity of painting pottery... and it's a wedding gift for the bride (or a quick donation to the Salvation Army). You can also bring wine and appetizers. | Board the Chicago Trolley, head south on Lincoln, west (right) on Belmont, and south on Damen to Wabansia. | 4:00-6:15 | |
| Silver Cloud | 1700 N. Damen | After a busy afternoon of pottery painting, what could be better than comfort food (chicken pot pie, meatloaf) accompanied by comfort cocktails like the S'mores-tini. Yum. |
South on Damen, southeast (left) on Milwaukee, east (left) on North, and north (left) on Wells. | 6:30-7:30
| Second City | 1616 N. Wells |
The best comedy in the known universe and where some of the best Saturday Night Live talent got their start. Reservations are required and you'll want to catch the 8:00pm show. Trolley Tip: To keep the charge to four hours or less, pick up the trolley after Second City. |
South on Wells, east (left) on North, south (right) on Inner Lake Shore Drive, east (left) on Pearson (you will probably need to circle around to the entrance on Chestnut). | 7:45-9:45
| Signature Lounge | 875 N. Michigan |
Possibly the highest lounge in the world, the Signature Lounge offers stunning views of "The Grid" that is Chicago. There's no cover charge, drinks are surprisingly reasonable considering the venue, and jazz bands play on weekends. If the line's too long, check out Nomi on the 7th floor of the Peninsula Hotel across the street. Trolley Tip: If you're pressed for time or want to keep the charge to four hours or less, skip either the Baton Club or Signature Lounge. |
North on Michigan, west (left) on Walton, north (right) on Rush, west (left) on Division, north (right) on LaSalle, west (left) on North, north (right) on Clybourn, and west (left) on Webster until across from Webster Place Cinema. | 10:00-11:30
| Webster Wine Bar | 1480 W. Webster | Chicago's oldest wine bar (since 1994). An extensive wine list accompanies a menu of brie and pizza, set in a fun and comfortable atmosphere with cool bartenders. Nearby 404 Wine Bar is a viable alternate, if need be. | 12:00-2:00 (3:00 Sat) |
